80th Birthday Raises Awareness and Funds...
Project Roots and Wings off to a Very Successful Start
On August 15th, ALCH supporters and alumni, community leaders, legislators, and donors gathered at the Marland Mansion in Ponca City to celebrate the 80th birthday of our American Legion Children’s Home.

Guests at the event were treated to wonderful food, great music, lively dancing, and moving remarks from some of our most prominent supporters including Representative Ken Luttrell, Senator David Myers, Attorney John Raley, ALCH Director Bill Alexander, Lt. Governor Jari Askins, American Legion National Commander Marty Conatser, and OU/ Miami Dolphins star Uwe von Schamann.

Additionally, there were many alumni from several different generations present.
It was a pleasure to see people whose lives were directly influenced by this Home come out in support of our future.

The event raised awareness and funds for Project Roots and Wings, our capital campaign which will result in the construction of a new residential unit. The campaign and the celebration received a wealth of media coverage. The Tulsa World, Fox News Channel 25, OKC News Channel 4, the Ponca City News, and the American Legion Magazine all featured articles on our Home’s 80th birthday and our goals for the future.

We thank you, our supporters, for helping to get our name out there and our story into people’s hearts. Donations for the new build-
ing can be mailed to the home at any time, or you can donate online HERE!
