| A Generous Bequest... |
We recently received an exceedingly generous gift of over $100,000.00 from the estate of Thomas L. and Betty J. Rider. Mr. Rider was one of the first children to live at the Children's Home in 1928, and was our
very first graduate. He went on to become a decorated war hero and left the military as a highly decorated Lieutenant
Colonel. Before Lt. Col. Rider passed away, he made his wishes known to his wife that he wanted the
Children's Home remembered in his estate. When Mrs. Rider passed last year, we were notified that we were
remembered in her will in honor of her late husband. What a wonderful legacy to leave behind!
One of the simplest ways to give is to give of your estate. You can make a gift bequest, after others have
been provided for, of a dollar amount, specific property, a percentage of the estate or the remainder of the estate
to the organization. Please consider a bequest to the only American Legion Children's Home. Your lasting gift
will be appreciated for many years to come.
